Former Copar quarry files for bankruptcy By DALE P. FAULKNER Westerly Sun (RI) August 30, 2015 WESTERLY - The Copar/Armetta saga appears to be winding down as the quarry company is liquidating its remaining assets under federal bankruptcy rules. The company’s operation in Bradford has been a thorn in the side of its neighbors, drawing town officials into a dispute that has gone on for nearly five years. Armetta LLC voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Aug. 19 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New Haven. Although many Chapter 11 petitions result in company reorganization, Rebecca Adams, a lawyer for Armetta LLC, said the company is not reorganizing but instead is liquidating its assets.
