Wyoming college offers to donate brownfield property to ARC

ANDERSON – The owners of the former location of Baxter Pest Control on Nichol Avenue are interested in donating the property to the Anderson Redevelopment Commission.

The property is adjacent to the former Edgewood Plaza, which is currently owned by the Anderson Redevelopment Commission (ARC).

Gary McKinney, brownfields specialist with the Anderson Economic Development Department, said Tuesday that the Central Wyoming College Foundation, which recently obtained the property, is willing to donate the site to the city.

McKinney said the estimated cost of the property's environmental cleanup is $180,000 and the assessed value of the property is $59,000.
