Subject: | [CPEO-BIF] RE-Powering America’s Electronic Decision Tree |
RE-Powering America’s Land: Siting Renewable Energy on Potentially Contaminated Land, Landfills and Mine Sites Through its RE-Powering America’s Land Initiative, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) encourages renewable energy development on current and formerly contaminated lands, landfills, and mine sites when aligned with the community’s vision for the site. Building on existing paper versions of solar and wind decision trees, the RE- Powering Initiative expanded the concept into a downloadable computer tool that guides interested parties through a process for screening sites for their suitability for solar photovoltaic (PV) or wind installations For more information, see http://www2.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2015-10/documents/repower_technologies_decision_tree.pdf -- Lenny Siegel Executive Director, Center for Public Environmental Oversight a project of the Pacific Studies Center 278-A Hope Street Mountain View, CA 94041 Voice: 650-961-8918 or 650-969-1545 Fax: 650-961-8918 LSiegel@cpeo.org http://www.cpeo.org _______________________________________________ Brownfields mailing list Brownfields@lists.cpeo.org http://lists.cpeo.org/listinfo.cgi/brownfields-cpeo.org | |
