Kingston panel favors adoption of waterfront redevelopment plan By Ariel Zangla Kingston Daily Freeman (NY) November 17, 2015 KINGSTON - Initial approval has been given to the Kingston Waterfront Brownfield Opportunity Area Implementation Plan that could guide the redevelopment of 192 acres along the city’s Rondout Creek waterfront. The Common Council’s Laws and Rules Committee on Tuesday adopted a resolution that called for the adoption of the plan and determined it would have no significant environmental impact. The resolution must still be adopted by the full council, which meets again Dec. 1. “What this allows us to do is actually just finish this process, this year, with this council,” Gregg Swanzey, the director of the city’s Office for Economic Development and Strategic Partnerships, told the committee. He said his office is still accepting comment on the plan through Nov. 23, but to date has received nothing of significance regarding the generic environmental impact statement. The comments that have been received have been incorporated into the document, Swanzey said. … For the entire article, see http://www.dailyfreeman.com/general-news/20151117/kingston-panel-favors-adoption-of-waterfront-redevelopment-plan -- Lenny Siegel Executive Director, Center for Public Environmental Oversight a project of the Pacific Studies Center 278-A Hope Street Mountain View, CA 94041 Voice: 650-961-8918 or 650-969-1545 Fax: 650-961-8918 LSiegel@cpeo.org http://www.cpeo.org _______________________________________________ Brownfields mailing list Brownfields@lists.cpeo.org http://lists.cpeo.org/listinfo.cgi/brownfields-cpeo.org | |
