Settling in at the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation by MOIRA SHERIDAN WILMINGTON NEWS JOURNAL (DE) November 21, 2015 Add a former industrial site in a dense urban setting. Throw in a creative, enthusiastic group of people with a vision to transform an historic maritime setting into a beautiful landscape and you have the newly planted grounds of the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation. This past September, volunteers planted native trees, shrubs, perennials, and grasses in the approximately two-acre lot along the Christina River in Wilmington as part of a collaboration among several organizations.
