CDC to investigate Waycross Cancer Cluster

WAYCROSS, Ga. - The Centers for Disease Control has agreed to investigate an outbreak of rare cancer cases in Ware and Pierce counties, mostly in children, Georgia State Representative Jason Spencer tells First Coast News Ken Amaro.

This comes after First Coast News looked into the cancer outbreak impacting more than a dozen families in the area.

The investigation by the CDC's Agency for Toxic Substances & Disease Registry will look at two sites in the area that residents believe could be the cause of cancer cases, one owned by CSX and the other by Atlanta Gas & Light.
