EPA eyes new parties at Superfund site by Tonya Maxwell Asheville Citizen-Times May 16, 2016 One of the world’s largest defense contractors and an area development group could be held responsible for cleanup costs at an area Superfund site after environmental regulators identified those companies as potentially responsible for contamination at the South Asheville site. Those groups could potentially share costs with CTS Corp., an Indiana-based company, in scrubbing the manufacturing chemical trichloroethylene, better known as TCE, from the CTS of Asheville site along Mills Gap Road.
