DEP reconsiders $1.2 million drinking water fix by Jim Hook Chambersburg Public Opinion (PA) June 2, 2016 WAYNESBORO -- The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is rethinking a $1.2 million plan to correct drinking water contamination for nine homes southeast of Waynesboro. Private springs and wells in the area are contaminated with trichloroethylene, a chemical that was popular 60 years ago as a metal degreaser.
