Hearing to address contaminated site cleanup proposal By Liz Markhlevskaya Foster's Daily Democrat (NH) December 7, 2016 ROCHESTER - The city next week will hold a public hearing on the proposal to apply for federal grants to clean up the former Advanced Recycling site on Wallace Street. The city is considering using U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Brownfields Program to clean up the site, which has been deemed contaminated. It is located at 10-16 Wallace St. in Rochester. According to city documents, the site formerly housed several industrial and commercial tenants over the past century. Occupants have included Rochester Foundry & Machine Works, Johnson Foundry, Twin State Gas and Electric Company, Diamond Match Company, the scrap metal company L. Weinstein & Sons, and Public Service of New Hampshire. ...
