Geneva Foundry remediation could by done by next fall By DAVID L. SHAW Finger Lakes Times (NY) December 21, 2016 GENEVA — Sometime soon, the city hopes to fast-track state approval of its application for funds to remediate the former Geneva Foundry property at 23 Jackson St. The application was submitted in November. If approved next month, the city would sign the Brownfield Cleanup Program agreement with the state Department of Environmental Conservation - probably in February - and make a determination of how significant the threat level is. The timeline calls for the city to submit a remedial action work plan in the first quarter of 2017, followed by implementing the work plan in the second quarter and completing the work in the third quarter, or by Sept. 30. The cost is estimated at $566,000. ...
