Past success has Tennessee concerned about federal brownfield cuts by Steve Ahillen Knoxville News-Sentinel (TN) April 28, 2017 The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation has called federal brownfields grants the “unsung hero of Tennessee’s economic resurgence.” Now, with proposed major slashes to the Environmental Protection Agency, TDEC is hoping that hero doesn’t ride off into the sunset.
