Charles Town dedicates new park, announces restoration by Tim Cook Martinsburg Journal (WV) June 4, 2017 CHARLES TOWN — It bustled for nearly 100 years starting the 1880s as an industrial site that converted goal into gas fuel. Afterward, it became a fallow field, contaminated with the chemical waste from all of that dirty manufacturing. On Friday, Charles Town officials here celebrated the rebirth of the nearly six-acre site as a nature park and the last link of a four-mile walking greenway connecting east and west neighborhoods. ...
