Public meeting Thursday to discuss plans for former GM plant on Boxwood Road near Newport by Jeff Neiburg Wilmington News Journal (DE) December 4, 2017 The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control will hold a public meeting Thursday to discuss proposed redevelopment plans for the former GM plant site on Boxwood Road near Newport. … Harvey Hanna & Associates, Inc. was first linked to the historic property in August and formally announced the pending deal in early October before officially completing the acquisition from Wanxiang America Inc. at the end of October. The former GM plant and former site of Fisker is currently a DNREC Certified Brownfields Site in Delaware’s Brownfields Development Program. The program encourages the cleanup and redevelopment of vacant and abandoned properties that may be contaminated.
