Mandatory evacuation notice lifted for Franklin Village Plaza, two businesses cleared to open By Andrea Peck Oakland Press (MI) March 22, 2018 The Franklin Village Plaza mandatory evacuation notice has been lifted. Two of the five businesses, Franklin Nail and Spa and Franklin Cleaners, may resume normal operations due to the successful removal of the tank found in the crawl space of the building, the installation of vapor barriers and air filtration devices, and satisfactory air quality results. The mandatory evacuation order has been downgraded to a voluntary evacuation order for Tailoring and More, Fritz and Friends and Village Boutique. Oakland County Health Division strongly recommends these businesses stay closed pending satisfactory air quality test results. Air quality testing will continue for the next several days in attempts to verify satisfactory air quality results in these spaces. All Franklin Village Plaza businesses are required to use temporary air filtration devices 24 hours a day pending the installation of a permanent system. Air quality monitoring will continue in the coming month. … For the entire article, see http://www.theoaklandpress.com/general-news/20180322/mandatory-evacuation-notice-lifted-for-franklin-village-plaza-two-businesses-cleared-to-open -- Lenny Siegel Executive Director Center for Public Environmental Oversight a project of the Pacific Studies Center P.O.
