Lion Gate: Bloomfield wants to borrow $13.3 million to convert 18.2 acres into a park $4.75 million will be funded through state grants. by Matt Kadosh NorthJersey.com July 23, 2018 BLOOMFIELD - A state grant and accompanying municipal monies are anticipated to fund the conversion of an 18.2-acre brownfield into a municipal park. The Township Council introduced a measure to borrow monies to pay for the purchase and conversation of the Lion Gate property on Monday. The $13.3 million bond issue includes $4.75 million in state grants to fund the acquisition and overhaul of the property just off of Lion Gate Drive. The Township Council approved the measure, 6-0.
