Tests show high levels of TCE in 2 homes near CTS Superfund site

ASHEVILLE, N.C - The EPA says tests reveal levels of a dangerous chemical inside some homes near the former CTS Superfund site are above protective standards.

The EPA began testing for TCE -- a known carcinogen -- last week inside two homes on the Rice property when outdoor TCE levels increased between mid-July and August. Tests showed levels above what's acceptable indoors for sensitive populations.
