[Please note the Michigan typically defines brownfields work much more expansively than most other state. - LS] Ann Arbor eyes affordable housing with new brownfield policy By Darcie Moran MLive (MI) September 20, 2019 ANN ARBOR, MI - Ann Arbor will attempt to bolster its affordable housing offerings through a new brownfield redevelopment policy. City Council adopted the policy by unanimous vote this week -- Councilman Zachary Ackerman was absent. The policy will, among other things, require that projects seeking brownfield tax incentives through non-environmental activities make 15% of their units affordable to those making 60% or less of the area median income, which is $60,720 for a family of four in Washtenaw County.
