$535K pollution cleanup at Ann Arbor nature center gets extra support By Ryan Stanton Ann Arbor News October 24, 2019 ANN ARBOR, MI – The city is getting some extra help from the county to clean up pollution at the Leslie Science and Nature Center. City Council voted this week to approve a $535,438 brownfield plan to address the contaminated site at 1831 Traver Road. The city will be fully reimbursed by Washtenaw County’s brownfield fund, officials said. … Eugene Leslie was a University of Michigan professor active in the field of chemical engineering and the site was headquarters for much of his pioneering work that developed new technologies such as no-knock gasoline.
