City Pledges to Stop EncroachmentStacy Wiggins WTKR-TV 3 (Hampton Roads, VA) August 1, 2005 The city of Virginia Beach says being BRAC-listed is a wake-up call. The mayor has pledged to limit encroachment to keep the jets flying high at Naval Air Station Oceana. "There is a commitment to wanting to maintain a viable jet base at Oceana," said Mayor Meyera Oberndorf on Monday. Mayor Oberndorf said the City has proof of that commitment.
