Air base going to the dogsBy Elaine Allegrini Brockton Enterprise (MA) September 14, 2005 WEYMOUTH - The former air base is going to the dogs. Up to 200 canines from the Gulf Coast states ravaged by Hurricane Katrina are expected to begin arriving at the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station as early as next week. The dogs will be housed at the former base's fire station under an agreement reached Tuesday with the state Department of Agriculture, said Terry Fancher, director of the panel in charge of base planning. ...
