BNAS's civilian workers explore career options when base closesSeth Koenig Brunswick Times Record (ME) July 20, 2006 BRUNSWICK - For some of the more than 700 civilians who work at the Brunswick Naval Air Station, the 2011 closure of the base is as much an opportunity as it is a stroke of bad luck. Melissa Frizzle of Dresden cleans rooms at the Combined Bachelors' Quarters on the base, and was on hand to explore career options during Wednesday's Education Supermarket at the Navy Reserve Center. The "Supermarket," which resembled a specialized college recruitment fair, ran from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and offered a wide variety of ways that civilian employees could use retraining scholarships made available by the Finance Authority of Maine. ...
