OK Army National Guard Corrects Information on BRAC Armory ClosingsFrom news release KTEN TV-10 News (Denison, TX) August 8, 2006 Oklahoma National Guard officials stated today that only 63 armories and maintenance facilities will close. This is less than the 100 closings previously reported. "We feel it is important to set the record straight as the realignment affects so many communities across the state," said Col. Pat Scully, public affairs officer for the Guard. "This is a continuation of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission decision last year to realign and re-station units of the Oklahoma Army and Air National Guard," he said. "The effects to the Guard and the number of unit realignments have not changed." ...
