Federal City construction set to begin by ’08 deadline

The federal government has set a Sept. 30, 2008, deadline to begin 
construction on the nearly $160-million Federal City project in Algiers.

Officials are searching for tenants for the first phase of the project.

Hurricane Katrina delayed the project about nine months, said former 
Marine Maj. Gen. David Mize, chairman of Mayor C. Ray Nagin’s Mayor’s 
Military Advisory Committee.
