No set plans for Navy School, chancellor says Pushes UGA/MCG collaboration
University System Chancellor Erroll B. Davis said the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia should engage in more medical research collaborations, but denied any plans for a medical facility at the Navy Supply Corps School site in Athens. At his first official visit to UGA on Tuesday, Davis said that he has not been part of any discussions about the potential use for the Navy school for a second medical college. UGA President Michael Adams, Medical College of Georgia President Daniel W. Rahn and members of the University System Board of Regents Executive and Compensation Committee met at MCG in Augusta on Jan. 18 to discuss obtaining the 58-acre property on Prince Avenue northwest of downtown Athens. ...
