New law firm to help Ingleside fallout Nueces commissioners hope firm secures funds to aid with base closure By Brandi Dean Corpus Christi Caller-Times (TX) March 24, 2006 Nueces County commissioners have hired a new law firm to help them handle the fallout of Naval Station Ingleside's closure. Two weeks ago, the commissioners ended a contract with Hurt, Norton and Associates, the Washington, D.C.-based firm hired in December to help them decide whether to form a local redevelopment authority, or LRA. The LRA would seek grant money to help the local economy recover from the effects of the base's closure. County Judge Terry Shamsie said the group decided it wasn't able to help the county form an LRA, so the commissioners on Thursday voted to hire Tighe Armstrong Teasdale, PLLC, in its place. The contract is not finalized, but it likely would be for a maximum of $216,000. ...
