Uncle Sam looks to unload city parcel Jill Kaiser Dion Milford Mirror (CT) June 21, 2006 A philosophical dividing line may emerge as city officials begin discussing uses for a 2.3-acre parcel of land on Seamans Lane that the federal government has declared surplus. The parcel at 26 Seamans Lane has existed as an army repair facility for as long as some 30-year residents can remember. The large, garage-type facility, sur-rounded by Hummers and other army vehicles, has long been a quiet landmark of sorts on the street, which is home to some businesses, condominiums, a couple of single-family houses and Meadowside Elementary School. "There's never been much activity there, so there was never a conflict with the traffic," said Alderman Barbara Lambert (D), one member of a committee named recently to explore options for the land. ...
