PDC ponders future of Army Reserve siteFRED LEESON The Oregonian October 5, 2006 For Sale by Owner: 3.66 acres of prime residential land in the Multnomah neighborhood. Price: Who knows? Seller: U.S. government. Seller's agent: Portland Development Commission, sort of. The property is the Sears U.S. Army Reserve Center, at 2731 S.W. Multnomah Blvd. since the early 1960s. Last year, a federal commission accepted a U.S. Army recommendation to close the center and merge it into Camp Withycombe in Clackamas County. The decision means the government will sell the Southwest site for new uses. Under federal rules, the PDC was assigned to craft a redevelopment plan. ...
