Developer may let go 225 acres at depotBy Jim Hook Chambersburg Public Opinion (PA) November 7, 2006 GREENE TOWNSHIP -- The Letterkenny Industrial Development Authority is agreeing to negotiate with the Army so Letterkenny Army Depot can keep 225 acres that was to be returned to the community. LIDA's unanimous voice vote on Monday was the first step in a process that could give the Army depot a secure place behind its fence for military warehouses and offices. Letterkenny Army Depot is preparing for the next base closure commission, which is anticipated in less than 10 years. As a result of the 1995 Base Realignment and Closure Commission, many Letterkenny operations are outside the main fence. ...
