Corky McMillin, Lennar among bidders for Alameda Point

Lennar Corp.'s Lennar Urban division and San Diego-based Corky McMillin 
Companies are among the five developers who have submitted 
qualifications to be the new master developer of Alameda Point.

SunCal, an Irvine-based consortium headed by United World 
Infrastructure, and the ProLogis (NYSE: PLD) company Catellus 
Development Group are the other entities that met the Dec. 4 deadline 
set by the city of Alameda. The builders are vying to take over the 
position abandoned by Alameda Point Community Partners earlier this 
year, due in part to housing market changes.

A selection committee will analyze the companies' submissions and may 
recommend one of them to the City Council, acting as the Alameda Reuse 
and Redevelopment Authority. A vote may come as soon as January.
