Navy releases cleanup survey Seth Koenig Brunswick Times Record (ME) March 22, 2007BRUNSWICK - Base closure environmental officials won't be classifying any Bruns-wick Naval Air Station properties as "uncontaminated" after finishing an initial survey of base property. Federal law under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act requires the Department of Defense to identify and document "un-contaminated" property within 18 months of a base closure announcement. For Brunswick, that meant Navy personnel needed to issue a report by May 9. The draft report was presented at Wednesday's meeting of the Restoration Advisory Board, which oversees the ongoing environmental cleanup of Brunswick Naval Air Station. It identifies no uncontaminated properties in either Topsham or Brunswick. ...
