City looks to sell Maxwell Heights

When the city originally acquired Maxwell Heights in a deal with Maxwell 
Air Force Base in 2006, Mayor Bobby Bright called the deal a "win-win" 
situation for Montgomery and the base. It has been anything but since 
the city took over the property.

Vandals immediately went to work and removed everything from windows and 
doors to copper wiring from the property, making it an unattractive 
eyesore for the community and prospective buyers.

On Tuesday, City Council members gave Bright the green light to declare 
Maxwell Heights surplus property.
