Civic leaders get preview of BNAS reuse plans
Four zoning plans to be unveiled for general public at tonight's meeting

BRUNSWICK - Civic leaders of town committees and boards Wednesday night 
sifted ideas for locating uses and access on Brunswick Naval Air 
Station, in prelude to tonight's public workshop at 7 p.m. at the McKeen 
Street meeting space.

Representatives from town entities ranging from the Bicycle and 
Pedestrian Committee to the Brunswick Economic Development Corporation 
reviewed four poster boards mapping types of uses on the base and 
registered their reaction to each general planning scheme to Brunswick 
Local Redevelopment board members and staff.

Their comments were aimed at giving specific guidance of base 
development plans from town perspectives as the LRA devises zoning plans 
to integrate the 3,300 base acres expected to be available in 2011 into 
the community. Those zoning rules, or the LRA master plan, is to be 
submitted to the Navy and the federal department of Housing and Urban 
Development in December.
