Proposals unveiled for BNAS master plan Rachel Ganong Brunswick Times Record (ME) September 7, 2007BRUNSWICK - A chance for citizens to comment on proposals for an aero-centric reuse plan for Brunswick Naval Air Station came and went Thursday, but the opportunity brought little new comment to the planning process for the redevelopment of the air base scheduled for decommissioning in 2011. Planners looking at the future of Brunswick after the Navy leaves have talked with about "half a dozen" companies interested in moving to the local military base property to provide jobs. Steve Levesque, executive director of the Brunswick Local Redevelopment Authority, reiterated the history of the planning effort that started in 2005 with the base closure announcement before reviewing two color-coded plans, both of which incorporated the existing aviation space that LRA members voted to retain on Aug. 15. ...
