Federal workers getting $120,000 to relocate from Arlington to Fort Meade By JOSHUA STEWART Annapolis Capital (MD) October 26, 2007A military agency that is bringing thousands of employees to Fort George G. Meade is offering its workers up to $120,000 to cover their expenses for the 33-mile move from Arlington - a payout county planners hope will encourage the highly skilled work force to relocate here. The Defense Information System Agency, or DISA, is offering the relocation package - which exceeds the median household income in the county - a year earlier than originally planned, said Bob Leib, special assistant to the county executive during a public briefing on BRAC Wednesday night in Annapolis. DISA is the Department of Defense's version of America Online, AT&T Corp., OnStar and Google. By September 2011, Fort Meade will be home to 4,272 DISA employees. ...
