Federal workers getting $120,000 to relocate from Arlington to Fort Meade

A military agency that is bringing thousands of employees to Fort George 
G. Meade is offering its workers up to $120,000 to cover their expenses 
for the 33-mile move from Arlington - a payout county planners hope will 
encourage the highly skilled work force to relocate here.

The Defense Information System Agency, or DISA, is offering the 
relocation package - which exceeds the median household income in the 
county - a year earlier than originally planned, said Bob Leib, special 
assistant to the county executive during a public briefing on BRAC 
Wednesday night in Annapolis.

DISA is the Department of Defense's version of America Online, AT&T 
Corp., OnStar and Google. By September 2011, Fort Meade will be home to 
4,272 DISA employees.
