BRAC contract awarded Chamber to decide on roads, schools, utilities necessary Huntsville Times (AL) October 31, 2007The Madison County Commission has awarded a 14-month, $650,000 contract to the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce to develop a plan to identify the roads, schools and utilities needs for BRAC. Chamber Chairman Evans Quinlivan said the chamber is uniquely suited to handle the services called for in the contract. "As the lead economic development entity of Madison County, many of the tasks assigned in the contract are what we do," said Quinlivan, CEO of First American Bank. Money for the grant for the Tennessee Valley Regional BRAC Growth Coordination Plan comes from the Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment, an agency that helps communities deal with defense program changes, including base closures or realignments. ...
