BLRA head is latest to jump ship
Officials want her to stay

Another key official guiding the development of Bayonne's most valuable 
piece of waterfront real estate has jumped ship. Nancy Kist, who only 
three months ago agreed to a new contract as executive director of the 
Bayonne Local Redevelopment Authority, has quit.

Kist's departure comes in the wake of resignations this past weekend of 
two BLRA board members - City Council members Vincent Lo Re Jr. and John 
Halecky. Lo Re said yesterday he felt after serving six one-year terms, 
it was time to step aside.

Kist's exit comes as the BLRA continues to try and persuade the Army to 
release the deed to the 430-acre former military logistics base. Because 
of sub-surface contamination in certain areas, the Army placed 
environmental restrictions on part of the land.
