Miron anticipates lots of bidders for engine plant Fred Musante Stratford Star (C) November 21, 2007 Mayor James Miron predicts there will be numerous bids for the purchase and redevelopment of the Stratford Army Engine Plant when the property is offered for sale in early 2008, based on the positive response at a bidders conference last week. At least two companies want to base film-making and digital media industry operations at the property to take advantage of special tax incentives the state offers, Miron said, though he declined to name them. "That's exciting," he said of the prospect of bringing the film industry to Stratford. Representatives of at least 30 potential bidders filled a meeting room at a hotel near Bradley Airport to question federal, state and local officials about the former tank engine manufacturing facility, which has been renamed "Point Stratford" for marketing purposes. ...
