600 jobs to be cut at KC Defense Finance and Accounting offices

More than 600 jobs are to be eliminated at Defense Finance and 
Accounting Service facilities in Kansas City.

However, under a recently announced grant of slightly more than $1 
million, about 225 of those displaced workers, including some at a 
similar facility in St. Louis, are getting career-transition assistance 
from the Missouri Division of Workforce Development.

The grant comes from the U.S. Department of Labor’s discretionary funds.
