Funding for base parkway on runway By Ed Baker Weymouth News (MA) January 15, 2008 Weymouth - Efforts by South Shore Tri-Town Development Corporation to get state funds for constructing an East-West Parkway at the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station are on the fast track. The Tri-Town board of directors unanimously agreed on Jan. 14 to enter into a memorandum of agreement with state transportation and financing officials to support Gov. Deval Patrick's proposal to provide $42.5 million to build the parkway. "This agreement is reassuring," Tri-Town Executive Director Terry Fancher said following the board's vote. "Previous plans to redevelop the base did not get further than this, and it is a significant milestone for all concerned." ...
