CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL JOBS PROJECTION In July, California's Employment Development Department released an Occupational Guide on environmental jobs within the state. It projected, based upon information from Environmental Business International, that Environmental Hazardous Waste Workers will account for 17% of all California environmental workers in 1996. This particuar group (haz waste) will increase from a little more than 30,000 in 1992 to 50,000 in 1997. The Occupational Guide sketches several categories of workers, from technicians to engineers and scientists, along with their educational and skill requirements as well as pay ranges. |
