As of today I still have not been able to locate a copy of the summary for H.R. 3262. However the following excerpt from Gannett News Service highlights some of the bill's provisions: "Among the bill's provisions: -- Focusing on permanent cleanups of sites so they can be reused. -- Making large-scale polluters pay for cleanups. -- Protecting children and their health. -- Involving communities in the cleanup process. -- Requiring that health assessments or other services be performed at facilities. -- Giving people the right to know about substances to which they might be exposed. -- Ensuring that sites in economically distressed areas be cleaned up as quickly as sites in other areas. -- Providing grants to help clean up urban "brownfields. "" The full text of the bill can be found at: http://thomas.loc.gov/ Under "search" type in H.R. 3262 Aimee Houghton CAREER/PRO | |
