A STAKEHOLDERS' FORUM ON NATURAL ATTENUATION At the end of August, 1998, the Center for Public Environmental Oversight (AKA SFSU CAREER/PRO) is organizing, in partnership with other organizations, a two-day national stakeholders' forum on the natural attenuation of hazardous waste. This forum will present state-of-the-art research on the technologies of natural attenuation, clarify national policy issues on the use of natural attenuation as a remedy, and offer stakeholders from all constituencies the opportunity to offer feedback on the growing reliance upon natural remedies. WHEN: Monday-Tuesday, August 31-September1, 1998 WHERE: Westin Hotel, Millbrae, California (adjacent to the San Francisco airport) WHO: 300-350 people. Attendees, from across the United States, will include members of restoration advisory boards, site-specific advisory boards, and other community stakeholders (including local government representatives); academia; state, tribal, and federal regulators; representatives of environmental industry; and government (Defense, Energy, etc.) and private responsible parties. A limited number of travel scholarships will be available to help cover the travel and lodging of public stakeholders from outside the Bay Area. COST: There is NO fee for this forum.
