I'm all for research and development of alternatives to du ordnance, but until such alternatives are indeed developed, I'm all for using the best weapon in the arsenal. If there are such alternatives, I haven't seen them suggested here. But what truly befuddles me are the concerns expressed over stochastically determined injury when we are dealing with real murders, real rapes, real forcible evictions. Frankly, I find discussions regarding the environmental consequences of war silly. Bombs and missiles, and rockets, and grenades and bullets and mines kill and destroy and maim. Let's talk instead about stopping the killing and destruction and the maiming. |
