Subject: Range Directives Available on Web

The two new Range Management Directives are available on the worldwide
web at
http://www.denix.osd.mil/denix/Public/Policy/OSD/dodd4715-11.html
and
http://www.denix.osd.mil/denix/Public/Policy/OSD/dodd4715-12.html.

The Defense Department describes the origin of the Directives as
following on the "DENIX" home page:

"DoD has published two new directives (4715.11 and 4715.12) covering
environmental and explosives safety on active and inactive ranges
world-wide. The directives were produced by the Operational and
Environmental Executive Steering Committee for Munitions (OEESCM). As
members of the OEESCM, operators, testers, and logisticians, to name a
few, were involved in drafting the directives. This internal DoD
partnering was the key to getting these directives approved. The OEESCM
also obtained public input from an on-going National Munitions Dialogue
to help craft many of the requirements outlined in the directives."
