Subject: Website Update April 14, 2000 -- Suit seeks to halt weapons burnings at Herlong -- A coalition of California and Nevada groups <http://www.rama-usa.org/> Thursday filed alleging violations of the California Health and Safety Code. The coalition wants to stop the depot from disposing of more than 86 million pounds per year of obsolete bombs, mortars, artillery shells, rocket motors, land mines, and grenades by open burning and open detonation. The depot, at Herlong, Calif., 55 miles northwest of Reno, has been burning and exploding unwanted munitions for more than 30 years -- By Frank X.
