Subject: | [CPEO-MEF] Navy's Vieques website |
To all interested parties: The DON/Dept. of the Navy announced on 20 July '00 that it has a bilingual website devoted to the issues surrounding Vieques, an island off the coast of the Territory of Puerto Rico. You'll find an interesting message from RADM Green, commanding officer, USNAVFORSOCOM or US Naval Forces, Southern Command. And a series of subsites devoted to the following: The Press Info Center, Facts & Allegations, Puerto Rico's Navy and "The Navy Cares." Go to <www.navyvieques.navy.mil> Do believe it's always sensible to view all facets of a controversial issue, not just from a singular perspective. DON is beginning to become proactive on environmental matters. This website is an example of the sensitivity the Navy attaches to these concerns.
