International Concert of Electroacoustic Music: Peace  for Vieques

On the 28th of October, beginning at 8PM,  composers Marco Trevisani and
Carlos Alberto Vazquez will present an  International Concert of Electro
Acustic Music for Peace in Vieques in front of  the entrance to Camp Garcia
in Vieques. Composers from Spain, Italy, United  States, Mexico, Chile,
Germany, England, Scotland, Holland, France, the Basque  Country, Cuba and
Austria have sent musical pieces in solidarity with the Vieques  cause.

The event will include presentations of works  conceived and interpreted
electronically that cover a wide array of genre, from  experimental and
concert pieces, to new age and techno. There will also be  presentations of
art, theatre and dance.

In addition to Trevisani and Vazquez, artists  representing Puerto Rico
will include Edgardo Veguilla, Alejandro Jose, Noel Allende,  Carlos
Lazarte and experimental vocalist Ivette Roman.

The concert will be the main activity during the  Peace Vigil, which has
been organized every Saturday night for over a year by the  Committee for
the Rescue and Development of Vieques at the Peace and Justice Camp -
located in front of the entrance to the bombing area of the US Navy on Vieques.

US NAVY, OUT OF VIEQUES!

Friends in solidarity with the cause of Vieques.

Warm greetings from  Vieques. We announce the sale of the documentary
video,  VIEQUES - AN ISLAND FORGING FUTURES, by Puerto Rican filmaker,
Johanna BermFAdez Ruiz. (October, 2000).

The 17 minute documentary  has English sub titles and offers an excellent
summary of the damages caused by  military practices, the struggle of the
resistence camps in the bombing area and  the arrests of 4 May. It includes
music by Roy Brown, Fiel a la Vega,  Ruben Blades, Shanghai Assasins, among
others.

The price of the  documentary is $20.00. To order please send cheque or
money  order for $25.00 - $20.00 for the video and $5.00 for postage - to
the Committee for the Rescue and Development of Vieques at the above
address. Please include your mailing address clearly  written.
