Subject: | [CPEO-MEF] Public Comment Opportunities |
[This was posted to the list by Laura Olah <olah@speagle.com>] Important Opportunities for Public Comment on Badger's Future PUBLIC HEARING: Date: Tuesday, November 14, 2000 Time: 6:30 pm Place: West Square Bldg. 505 Broadway, Baraboo Purpose: The Environmental Impact Statement process provides for public input. The "Scoping Meeting" is an opportunity for the public to tell the Government about their ideas for future reuse of Badger Army Ammunition Plant. Input can be via attendance at the meeting and publicly discussing your ideas and opinions, or by written submission advising the same, or both. Time constraints at the November 14 hearing: In order to ensure that everyone who wishes to speak has an opportunity to do so, time constraints will be determined by the number of people who wish to be heard. A stenographer will provide a record of the meeting. Lengthy submissions should be in writing with a synopsis presented verbally. WRITTEN COMMENT: Submission of written materials may be submitted at the meeting, or at any time prior to March 30, 2001 by mail to: William A. Costa Chief, Boston Operations Branch General Services Administration Property Disposal Division 1PR 10 Causeway St. Rm 925 Boston, MA 02222 GSA has advised CSWAB that it is very important that everyone with an opinion or idea present that information in either written or verbal form as the agency is looking for an accurate assessment of what the public's expectations and wishes are for Badger. All comments will be addressed in the final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). After the November 14 meeting, GSA and its contractors will be gathering information from local, state and other sources, researching existing data, and developing possible scenarios. A final report will not be issued until sometime after March 30, 2001 and will include and address all public comment and Reuse Committee recommendations. -- Laura Olah, Executive Director Citizens for Safe Water Around Badger E12629 Weigand's Bay South Merrimac, WI 53561 phone (608)643-3124 fax (608)643-0005 alt fax (608)643-2682 Email: olah@speagle.com NEW WEBSITE!! http://www.cswab.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You can find archived listserve messages on the CPEO website at http://www.cpeo.org/lists/index.html.
