Subject: [CPEO-MEF] Coral Reefs

"In October 2000, the Department of Defense (DoD) finalized its Coral
Reef Protection Implementation Plan outlining policies and actions to
implement the military's responsibilities under Executive Order 13089 on
Coral Reef Protection. The plan was formally distributed to the U.S.
Coral Reef Task Force and is available to the public via the Internet on
the Defense Environmental Network Information Exchange (DENIX) at
http://www.denix.osd.mil.

"The plan contains a comprehensive overview of Army, Navy, Air Force and
Marine Corps policies and programs related to coral reef protection,
describes military activities potentially affecting coral reef
ecosystems and lists funding sources for coral reef conservation
activities. The plan also discusses DoD research, outreach, and
stewardship initiatives, planned and in progress, designed to protect
and enhance coral reef ecosystems. This plan demonstrates DoD's
commitment to incorporating coral reef protection and conservation into
its military training and operational activities."

The document itself is a very large PDF file.
