Lenny's point is well taken and one that I firmly believe. It has always been 'my standard' to not let a problem go from a molehill to a mountain. So many problems start out small, like a molehill, BUT due to a variety of reasons and a lack of addressing the problem when it is small, one ends up facing a huge mountain. And so it goes with BRAC/FUDS sites, these are mountains of problems to any community. It is my hope that DoD is understanding why these sites are problems and is addressing them regarding 'active' bases' (cleaning up immediately is one solution and not having a 'landfill' of any type on base is another).
